File support?

Firstly, I'd just like to say I love the software, and it has really saved me in a pinch many times. I'm really only looking for one missing piece (well, partially missing at this point) -- being split rar file playback.
I've searched pretty extensively and found this thread: hxxp://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9833 (new user, link not allowed..)
I have downloaded UnRAR, added the transcoding settings and it sortof works, the files are recognized after a rescan and stuff does play, but it doesn't actually ever play the full thing -- an entire movie might play the first 8 minutes for example. I have a hunch (maybe unfounded though i suppose) it is only able to play the video file information that is contained in the initial RAR file rather than the entire file extracted from the split volumes, but I'm not sure how I would fix this.
Any ideas?
