Madsonic Support

Hi.

I use Madsonic Server 5.0 Beta3 Build 3510.

As Android Clients I tried:
- DSub (4.05)
- Ultrasonic (1.2.0.4)
- and latest Madsonic Client

I only can play Videos with Flash-Player/Browser.

If I use MX Player, it opens, but nothing is played.

Do I have something special set on the server or Android Client?

Under Settings / General, scroll down until you get to "Enable HTML5 Videoplayer" and enable that. Scroll to the bottom and save settings.

Then go to Cleanup/Tools (also under settings), and click "Reset Video Transcoder to WEBM".

Thankz for the tips.

I testet the HTML5 Videoplayer before, but also with a browser (FF 21), it takes a very long time to start a video and it remains hanging every few seconds for a few seconds (rotating spinner).
With Flash Player I have no problems.
(It looks as if the transcoding process for the HTML5 player requires significantly more processing power)

But this also happens with normal SD Files.
(I use an HTPC with Atom proc., ION Chipset, with up to 720p files I have no problems, only 1080p files will not play well)


With my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S2, JB 4.1.2) and H/W+ Decoder enabled in MX Player Settings (standard settings) I get:

The video can not be played (I can use MX Player with other files).

With S/W Decoder I only get the rotating spinner but the video will not start.


BTW:
Is it maybe possible to test this with BS Player Free too?

I can use this player in conjunction with Yatse (XBMC) and Universal Media Server (UPNP Server) + Skifta App without problems on my smartphone, so I think (hope) this player can also play the streamed files, but it is not displayed in the player selection.

Hi there,

With coming Android 5.4 Client i add native Player Support for MX, BS and VLC Player,
i hope this add more compatibility to the streaming function.
