How to show comment.txt files

I am new to Madsonic. I just setup version 6.2.9084 using Debian 9. I used to have Subsonic. I switched to Madsonic because I understood, perhaps incorrectly, that Madsonic would be able to read and add the comment.txt files I have in most of almost 4,000 folders of music.

Madsonic is up and running but I don't see any of the info from the comment.txt files.

Is there some way that I can get that info to display? With Subsonic I had to copy and past the contents of each comment file into the comments for each folder. The problem with that was that if I made changes to Subsonic or to my media folders I would lose all the comments because the comments were stored, as I understand in the database file.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Yes Madsonic support import from comment file for artists and albums.

Check:
  • place comment.txt file in your appropriate folder
  • goto MediaTools -> start Full Rescan to re-enable import of your comments
Log:

## CommentFile found: D:\Media\Artist\ABBA\[1974] Waterloo\comment.txt

Best regards,
The Madsonic Team

Got it. All is working very well. The comment.txt files, ( over 115,000 ) are showing up. Thank you. I'd somehow had named many of them "content.txt" instead. I'm back now. Thank you. This is the main reason I switched from Subsonic to Madsonic. I love it!
