artist art not working in SONOS, https related??

Does anyone have working artist art in SONOS?
I am using: MADSONIC 6.1.8740
I have debugged the integration between the SONOS and madsonic. Pressing the 'Browse Library' button in madsonic results in a web service POST getting sent into madsonic.
As far as I can tell when albumArtURI is an http url SONOS artist art works, when the albumArtURI is an https url, SONOS artist art work does not work. Is there a way of telling madsonic NOT to use https for artist art
