6.1 External Player Support not working

OS: UBUNTU 14.04
SYSTEM: SERVER
INSTALLER: DEB
JAVA: OPEN JDK 1.7
BROWSER: CHROME 44
CLIENT: WINAMP
DESCRIPTION: External player with playlist doesn't work
REPRODUCIBLE: YES (I reinstalled once to verify)

Clean installation on Ubuntu 14.04, just changed admin password, added a few tracks and tested.
I get an access denied error (tracks are with 666 permissions for testing)
Whenever I try to play using this mode I get:
localhost:4040 /stream?player=2&id=31&suffix=.mp3
admin:mysupersecrepassword@localhost:4040 /stream?player=2&id=31&suffix=.mp3
And got the same
Nothing else was tweaked so I don't think the problem is on my end

and I tried authenticating just in case:HTTP ERROR 403
Problem accessing /stream. Reason:
Access to file 31 is forbidden for user admin
Powered by Jetty://

And got the same
