Trigger script on jukebox play [any file]

Already asked this on the subsonic forum, without an answer yet.
Is it possible to trigger scripts somehow when jukebox mode plays a file. can be a bash or python script.
I like to switch my amp input that way. a little "How To" would be greatly appreciated.
