DB backup regulary

Hi

I have feeling that my server is starting to broke down. Before I open my wallet and buy new hardware for it I would like to do something to backup my database to usb-stick or something scheduled regulary.

Could someone help me to create script to do that?

I'm running headless Ubuntu server 12.04.
