External Databases

Unread post by nefeli »

Hi,

Could be great to be able to configure MadSonic to use an external DB provider (for example via JDBC) instead of internall DB. For Sysadmins (or just geeks), running alredy a DB server in the same PC as madsonic runs, I thinks it's redundant to have duplicate code running same tasks. I would like to suggest MySQL support.

Regards.

This would be a nice feature. It would open up possibilities to allow users to reset their own passwords, and allow admins to set permissions on a per user basis, as well as a per group basis and a per folder basis.

I agree that MySQL would probably be the easiest to implement. I already run it on my server for things other than Madsonic, so it would be a simple thing to just add another table to the database.
