Im going mad with power

Unread post by pajamas »

Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to subsonic, I've been using it since version 4 .7.

I'm a systems administrator for a medium sized company with a few hundred users and had an idea other day that maybe since I have access to everybody's computer I could run a mad sonic server and had everyone's machine as a watch folder and that way I could search the network for spreadsheets Word documents music files anything that exists on any machine on the entire network I don't think that I would hit the 1.5 million recordS others had spoke of but it's possible because of system files and garbage files that I don't care about, it would be nice if I could filter those out and only look for PDFs or spread sheets etc. has anyone thought of using subsonic or one of its Forks in this way?

I think Hadoop might be better suited to that task.
