Madsonic doesn't load the next track

I'm running the latest stable version 6.2.9084.8df1ddd.20190425.1020
The playback ceases indefinitely when the subsequent track should be loaded, I only see the buffering animation. I can select a track manually and the playback starts essentially instantaneously, but only from the album page - the UI media keys don't work.
I've enabled "autoplay" in the Firefox for the domain. I don't see relevant errors in the console or madsonic.log. FFmpeg is not installed, but I don't plan to transcode.
