switch database ?

Unread post by DoCC »

Hi MadEvil,

i recently tried to set up an hsqldb - jdbc-obdc - php gateway . an schaaß ....
the reason i tried this, was to build an own panel running outside of madsonic to do some administrative work
hsqldb is an RAM based db , with only stored procedures in an startup file -> madsonic.script

do you think, it would be an major effort to pull ALL admin functionalities to an mysql db ?
thing to reside in this db could be:
- admin : music folders
- admin : users - with settings
- admin : transcoding
- admin : mmmh ,,, all features would be great
- musicrelated : podcasts

i bet, having some basic admin elements , the users and the podcasts outside of the script / hsqldb would be a great invention.
just think about all those poor bastards, not knowing how to mess around with the scripts file, having to mess around with an new db from scratch ??

IF the hsqldb is nativly needed, would it be possible to setup all the above mentioned topics in an mysqldb which is read by an interpreter on madsonic start to fire up the system ?

(( mh got it ? sonst schick ich dir ne pn XD ))
