Hi,

is there a way to exclude certain (sub)folders from scanning like "$RECYCLE.BIN"?

best regards

recycle.bin as a subfolder? I never saw something like that.

I have a whole harddisk on the index and because madsonic is running under Windows there is a $Recycle.bin folder.

Same Problem here,
adding entire 2TB Drive under W7 adds also "recycle.bin" and "systeme volume information".
How can i exclude this?

Make a subfolder at the root level (ie. S:\Madsonic) and put everything you want to share inside that folder. Then add that folder (not S:\) to the Media Library.

well of course this is a solution... but I wanted to suggest that it might be a good idea to have exclude folder/file option in the settings e.g. under the media folders tab...

if it works this would be a solution...
do I have to rescan media folders for it to be effective?

A simple scan should do it, i don't think a full rescan is needed

Hm my madsonic_exclude.txt looks like this:

@Recycle
$RECYCLE.BIN

but after a Normal Rescan the folder is still visible in the list...
