No sound and flash not working?

Hi, im new to madsonic but after trying out a few of the different media players i have noticed that Mediaelement and html5 are the only players that areactually working for me but many videos i try to play through it have no sound at all. The flash player shows up when i try to test that out but when i click play nothing happens. So is there a way to fix my sound issue or is this some weird file format/transcoding issue?
