Delta Scan

Unread post by romantic »

hello,
i am using madsonic 5.1.5150.20140927.0919 i have for example 4 media folders : A,B,C and D .
After the initial scan i only upload media in the D folder ;
so my question : is it possible to scan only D for new files ? i dont need to rescan A , B and C .

so is it possible for the free version /donate version?

Thanks :geek:

till now, there are no different versions out there !

every rescan, the entire media lib is scanned.
There is a possibility to exclude some subfolders or filetypes. http://forum.madsonic.org/viewtopic.php ... xclude#p21
i never tried this feature. but you are free to test it : P

Thanks,

but by excludind folders, i believe the next time i do a scan my lbrairy will only have the new stuff.. if i am right my next question is :

is it possible to merge 2 db scan :

1 -initial scan db1
2 next scans = db2 ( the new stuf by excuding folders)
db final = db1 db2 ....

my concern is that i have a huge librairy , and it is muche easier to add only the new stuff.. i cant believe no one ever thinked about that .. i maybe incorrect in so many ways.

Have someone tried the 'excludng folders' in a way to only add new stuff?

in theory you could add folder 1 ( db1 ) and du an initial scan,
then add folder2 ( db2 ) and exlude stuff from db1

stuff from db1 will remain in madsonic, but will not be updated

just give it a try
