[Solved] LDAP users defaults
Great job getting this out. Trying it out now. First question...Is there any way to set the default user settings for LDAP users? I have found that when my users log in for the first time using their LDAP credentials, their settings are like this: Group: ALL Allowed to change settings and passwords ...

Re: Empty playlists
Also note that you do NOT want to do the full scan with cleanup...that will also wipe out all the entries in your playlists. If you look at the database structures for playlists, you will note that that it is a large database that simply has a playlist ID with a media identifier, which is assigned t...

Easy playlist owner changes
After a recent massive playlist export and import, all the playlists showed up as owned by the admin user. I had to use the Madsonic database editor to change the owner on all the playlists back to the original owner. It would be much nicer (and easier) if the ability to change the playlist owner wa...

Re: Empty playlists
I had a similar problem recently when I rearranged my directory structure. After the restructure, all my playlists appeared empty. Note that the playlists have the concept of active and inactive entries, but I've never seen a way to get Madsonic to export a playlist with all the entries, including t...

Re: Playlist Accessability
Ok, I think I found where this needs to be fixed to allow the admin user to read any playlist. Note that the code below says it's from the 5.1 branch. I don't know if the line numbers match current code. https://github.com/MadMarty/madsonic-server-5.1/blob/master/madsonic-main/src/main/java/org/mads...

Re: Playlist Accessability
Quite right. When using the web interface, the admin use has complete control over everything. However, that doesn't make this a mobile bug by default. It's more likely the bug is in the authentication code on the server used to determine if the admin user has rights to see/use/edit playlists via th...

Re: Playlist Accessability
The Madsonic Android client is a "weird mobile client"? I can duplicate the bug with it as well. I was providing evidence that it's not a client issue because it happens in two separate *sonic clients. In Madsonic Android client, as an admin user, I can see every playlist on the system, bu...

[Solved] Playlist Accessability
First, let me define some terms because I started to confuse myself while writing this in another forum. For playlists, I'm using three specific terms: See=A playlist visible in the playlist list. Use=Able to view and play the songs on the list. Edit=Change any properties of the list (name and publi...

Madsonic API
I see that in the new server version of 5.1, that the REST API was updated to 1.12.0. Is that API documented anywhere, or do I have to rely on the Subsonic documentation for the REST API? Surely there is a difference between the two, and surely the Madsonic changes are documented somewhere I've just...

Re: Madsonic 5.x Clementine Support
I had an issue with Clementine as outlined in this bug report: https://github.com/clementine-player/Cl ... ssues/4476
I switched to the "Bleeding edge hourly builds" and it worked fine.

[solved] Cache Folder location selection
Did the cache folder location selection get disabled in the latest client? I would still like to be able to change that from the default. My ROM disables the KitKat 4.4 security enhancement so I can use my SD card again. However, I would rather point the cache folder to a common music directory so a...

LDAP not working
I cannot for the life of me get LDAP to work. I have successfully configured other programs to use my LDAP server, but in this case, I don't even think Madsonic is even trying to communicate with the server. Running the latest 5.1.4800.beta2 on an MINT 17 linux server, but I couldn't get this to wor...

Re: Bluetooth metadata incorrect
For bluetooth metadata, it shows what is currently being played by the default music player, not what the client is caching. You only see the behavior you describe in the context of the "status" icon on the server.

Re: Bluetooth metadata incorrect
I saw this bluetooth issue with my Samsung Note 10.1 Tablet running 4.4.2 and a JVC receiver using DSUB. After the first track, the displayed track number is off by one. I've been trying to troubleshoot why my S3 (running 4.3) won't send any metadata to my receiver and trying different apps and devi...

Re: Madsonic server version 5.0 build 3860
After playing around with the tags, it seems most of my problems happened because there wasn't a year included in the tags. Maybe because I have "Show album year" selected in the general settings.

Re: Madsonic server version 5.0 build 3860
I'm seeing a number of these parse errors as well. For the most part, they seem to affect the genre. I can easily get a list of all the files that generate that error because they can be found in the left pane when I select "All Folders" and "unknown genre". I'll need to do a ful...
