Re: Previous install notification

Never really had problems installing a new version of Madsonic on top of an older version (since version 5 I guess).

But this one threw me for a loop, wasn't expecting it at all. Totally forgot I had even installed Subsonic on this test machine, and never bothered to even check!

Previous install notification

Just had a huge issue on my test machine - wanted to find a way to avoid similar issues in the future... Installed Madsonic (latest beta version) on my test machine, everything was working fine. Had to restart the server due to an OS update (running Centos 7). After restart, could no longer login to...

Will the MySQL support also support "MariaDB"?

Script to check for media files

Last week at some point, my server lost its connection to the computer I have my media stored on, and I didn't even know it until I went to listen to some tunes and the Madsonic client on my Android couldn't find any music. Of course, I was away from home, and where I was blocks access to the tool I...

I get raped by my cable provider/ISP... $45/month (US) for 15/5 (although I can clock in at 20/5 during non-peak hours).

Re: Webplayer Access

if I remember correctly, no. iOS doesn't support Flash.

You can set up your player to use an "external" player, and it may work, but it will be ugly.

Best bet is to use one of the apps designed for iOS. I use iSub on my iPad, but there are free apps that work just as well.

Re: Anyone willing to install and setup Madsonic on my VPS?

smtp ? a fully MTA ? the script uses just sendmail ... this is a included part of every *ix distri and sendmail just throws the mail to a stmp server you can store in the config ... therefor you could user gmail, gmx and co as well ... but every vserver comes along with a fully qualified MTA buildi...

Re: Anyone willing to install and setup Madsonic on my VPS?

If you are referring to the user registration script that I created, then that would be what you need MySQL for. (In Centos 7 it's called MariaDB, but it's the same thing.) You would need an SMTP server setup (or use the one provided by the hosting company), as well as a MySQL (or MariaDB) server in...

Re: Dynamic Now Playing

That's what I was thinking too, DocC. There's already a way to show who is playing what song (or watching what video). The only issue with this feature is that the song being played (or video being watched) is actually only being QUEUED (cached). If you listen on your mobile device, the "now pl...

Disabled account statistics

When viewing statistics, I'd like to "hide" the accounts that are currently disabled (specifically, the demo, guest, and default accounts).

Can this be done easily?

Re: IP Conflict

I just went to your site "minden.subsonic.org" and it went to your new IP address.

If you are still getting your old IP address, then you need to clear your DNS cache, check your router, clear/update any HOSTS file entries, and clear your browser cache.

Re: Statistics -Audiobooks

Put the audiobook files into a separate sub-folder outside your main music folder, and add it as a second media folder in Madsonic.

I did this between Music, Movies, and Audiobooks.

Re: Pandora no longer works, and other bugs

Well, I thought I updated to 5300, but according to the message I got when I updated to 5400, I was still only on 5250.

But I am on 5400 (beta 2) now, and Pandora mode is working again!

Thanks MadEvil!!!

Re: IP Conflict

It may take a day or two, but it should update automatically.

If you are running Windows, you can try running "ipconfig /flushdns" from a command prompt, but that will only clear your local cache, not the cache on the subsonic.org DNS server.

Re: Pandora no longer works, and other bugs

yeah, I recently updated to .5300, but I've had this issue since .5100, maybe even before... I did have to start from scratch as far as the db goes, for some reason it crashed on me and I had to pretty much delete it and start new. I also did just the other day try changing the pandora selection opt...

Re: Pandora no longer works, and other bugs

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking also. I'm just using the web client on my Linux box and that's where it's not allowing the Pandora mode to work. I've tried another browser on my Linux box, same results. And the same on my Win8 box. Even my Win10 box won't work properly.

Re: Pandora no longer works, and other bugs

I tried MadEvil's test server, and it works fine on his server. It's obviously an issue with my server, but I don't know where to start troubleshooting.... I've tried different browsers, but still won't work. Pandora mode on my Android device works fine. So that tells me it's not the server. But wha...
