Re: complete redesign

hmm, i am sure there is room for improvement and some ppl like it colorful with many pictures. i rather like the gui as it is at the moment. it is functional and allows me to drill down to what i am looking for with very few clicks. a layout like your example would rather make it very complicated - ...

Re: Facebook integration

i can see some ppl liking the idea of facebook and/or google integration for registration etc. i am personally rather skeptical about it (it would be a feature one can activate/ deactivate i hope). seeing both as rather gigantic information collectors i do not really want my madsonic server associat...

Re: scans/ rescans

thx for the input mate! :)
very much appreciated!
the mentioned changes for the next version sound good, i guess we will have to wait and see how they will improve the performance.

Re: scans/ rescans

just as an idea here - thinking about the prob. since it seems to scan everything all the time - is it possible to change/ add a command for the db to only scan new stuff??? along the lines - ignore everything to the date of last scan. just scan new stuff!? basically it should stop the db engine fro...

Re: scans/ rescans

Thanks for the feedback. You have an interesting problem. You might check to see if you have "Fast access mode" checked on the Settings/Media Folders screen. If it's checked then supposedly you won't see new files until after the next scan, which, of course, implies that if it's unchecked...

status tab

it seems that under the status tab in 5.1.5150 the last field (Bitrate) is empty. in chrome it shows a broken image link in firefox it is just blank. since i have no comparison to other versions at this point, maybe somebody can verify that.

Re: scans/ rescans

hi GJ51, thx for the reply first of all. i looked a long time ago into music cabinet and it wasn't bad. i juzst never really liked it :) .also, from reading around about the db speed problem i came across some posts claiming that the mc development came pretty much to a standstill. def not a softwar...

scans/ rescans

a few remarks on my personal experience lately. i use binhex-madsonic docker on an unraid server, before i used botez-madsonic on the same server... even before that i used a subsonic docker on the same machine. i have a largish music only collection of about 12tb / 100k albums. under subsonic a sca...

Re: Can't register or use as Subsonic Premium

sounds strange, i had no problem to register my subsonic premium account and use the subsonic domain forwarding.
i use a madsonic-docker on my unraid server. i don't know if that makes any difference compared to other install options, but i actually doubt it.

random play

it would be a huge improvement if the genres under the random play tap would be alphabetically sorted, as under all the genre related lists and drop down menus as well.
just something i noticed recently.

Re: FLAC streaming

looks like a really good idea to me! i love madsonic, but one of my huge issues with it is the limited ability to stream (at least in your home network) any file format. basically i keep xbmc on my machine in order to feed bitcorrect to my dac. what did i spend friggin' $1000 on, if i stream mp3-320...

ape tag reader

first of all, love the latest improvements from speed over stability etc. one of the things i really would love to see in the near future is a ape-tag reader for scans! maybe some other file formats are affected the same way - i did not notice so far. but it is a pain in the butt when you scan your ...

Re: [FAQ] How large can a Library become?

Hi There, A lot of time has passed by and lately I thought why not upgrade the Madsonic to % 3860 and see how fast it has become.. The old hardware failed me and so I'm using a HP Z800 with 8G of ram and a X5650 on 2.6GHz running Os is a Windows 7 64 bit... I'm still feeling the delay though it's r...

hi, i just updated my unraid to v6-beta6 (clean new install) and installed madsonic-5.0-1.6-x64-jetty8. first of all, thx for a great plugin! alone the working genre feature is worth the switch from subsonic! other features make it even more worthwhile. a great job to put subsonic on steroids :) an...

HeavenNight wrote:hi

if you scan or Clean-up from "media scan" you dont lost your playlists, only update your database.
but if you scan from media tools this will delete all your database and rescan again, this is why lost your playlist songs.

greetings.
thx, was wondering about this as well.
