Re: Madsonic Newsletter 06/2014
Ideas? - Make everything work with HTML5 - Flash is dead. - Make separate transcoding definition defaults for desktop and mobile devices. *may be obsolete if html5 handles music output as ogg in the desktop player? Now that I'm actually getting 4g connections once in a while, it would be nice to pla...

Re: Installing Madsonic on Debian Linux
And... it's a no-go. Had a friend test out the IP address, nothing. I can't even access the local IP from my other laptop, nor mobile devices. I can access it on the server laptop just fine, just not anywhere else. I wonder if I'm missing a setting somewhere? Any ideas? If you can access on the loc...

There's a link to an older apk that might get you by until a new version comes along that solves your problem.
http://uploaded.net/file/0p29jix7/subso ... 50.apk.zip
I can't guarantee that it'll work but it's worth a try until a fix is available.

Re: HTML5 support for audio
Thanks for the post. I agree that one of the most glaring problems with Sub/Mad sonic historically has been the slow transition to HTML5. It never used to bother me too much as I was always able to make things work through flash; but it becomes a pain when every time your phone gets an upgrade it wi...

Re: WTV playback quality problem
Spot on Marty! I bumped it up to 1920x1080 and it's super! Looks just like it should on a 24" monitor. I know your busy with the next upgrade, but when you get a breather I want to work with you on live TV feeds to Madsonic from my network cable TV tuner. We've got a lot of it worked out alread...

Re: WTV playback quality problem
OS - Windows Server 2012 R2 ffmpeg - Tested several versions - currently using latest 64 bit drop from Zeranoe. I have also tested 32 bit versions. I'll try to get some screenshots up later today. I've also tested multiple variations of the transcode string. I am hoping that at some point we do get ...

WTV playback quality problem
I have a rather large library of WTV files that my kids like to access when they are away at school. I've been doing this for several years and the one obstacle that keeps me having to maintain a Subsonic site rather than just going to Madsonic for all my sites is the WTV playback. I have another te...

Re: Kuril 10s quad core Jellybean all winner a31
Android 4.2 is getting a bit worn, but that probably isn't the problem. As you suggest the processor may be one that isn't in the main stream. Also remember that the OEM usually does the modifications to Android for the system it's on. With a 10.1" screen you should be able to run Madsonic with...

Re: WEBPLAYER doesn't START, but CAN DOWNLOAD
You should check the logs. It should have an error in it listed. I suspect you're getting a transcoding error which simply kills the stream to the player. The download should still work as it's probably just downloading the track in it's original format.

Re: company blocking ports?
I just did some testing on a site that uses port 8443 at that end. Opening Resource Monitor on my PC and looking at the Network Traffic it reports the browser connecting to the Remote port correctly but using ports 1997 and 2003 on the local side (my PC). Looking at my Advanced Firewall Settings, it...

Re: company blocking ports?
I've seen this type of problem reported many times, but I'm not sure it's ever been answered definitively. I think there is a lot of confusion on the topic and I'll be the first to admit that I may not fully understand it. First, I think that there may be more than one way that an employer blocks we...

Re: Failed to Initialize database
Thank you, Nice job. Personally, I don't run into db failures very often and I run several Subsonic/Madsonic instances in parallel in multiple VM's, but your efforts here are much appreciated. This seems to be a common issue in the forums. I don't know why, other than factors that might turn the hos...

Re: Failed to Initialize database
Probably a good idea. I'm not sure, but it makes sense to stop the service, copy, then restart.

Re: Failed to Initialize database
Sure - make a back up BEFORE it crashes. Just make a regular archive copy of the C:\Madsonic directory so you have a recent backup. You can manually copy once in a while, or if you're on Windoze you can use SyncToy to make automated backups. If you do the automated route, just be sure to occasionall...

Re: Does Madsonic read meta-data?
So I went ahead and installed Madsonic. Unfortunately the sorting and naming of albums is NOT from the meta-data but from the folder structure. This is a serious flaw in any modern player. The code should exist in musiccabinet to get a good start on moving away from this huge flaw coming from Subso...
