Re: how to merge subsonic to madsonic

There are never any guarantees... With all the different hardware and variations possible with each platform, it just isn't possible to say that any one installation won't run into difficulties. That's why STEP 2 in the above operation is so important. If your data files are PROPERLY backed up, then...

Re: Can I use a Subsonic license in Madsonic?

If madsonic does require a new license, i will have no problem purchasing it. There have been so many improvements and Mad is so much more responsive than Sindre? ever was. I don't even bother looking at subsonic website anymore. I'm comfortable with that as well. In fact I sort of feel obligated t...

Re: Can I use a Subsonic license in Madsonic?

As an option you could just go back to the 5.0 SR1 final release until things are finalized for the 5.1 release. 5.0 still works with the subsonic.org address.

Re: Can I use a Subsonic license in Madsonic?

Hello, Currently I use Subsonic Premium on a Windows server. I bought a Qnap TS-420 and have installed Madsonic. I understand that Madsonic is a fork of Subsonic, thus this mean that my premium license key is valid for Madsonic? When I enter the key in Madsonic it states that the key is invalid.. W...

Re: extra Users

It's hard to say what is causing your problem, but it definitely should not behave this way. I recently di a dual Madsonic/Subsonic install on one of my servers without any problem. Are you using the Madsonic 5.0 SR1 release? If not, I would suggest that you might want to re-install using the stable...

Re: Can I use a Subsonic license in Madsonic?

I don't know if this has changed for new users under the new Subsonic pricing scheme. I'm a legacy user with a lifetime key and I have used it on both Madsonic and Subsonic with no problems. Non-legacy licensing may be different. I think I read that Mad Evil will soon begin doing his own vanity redi...

Re: extra Users

This is a bit hard to follow and there are many issues in your post that suggest several potential problems. How you are connecting and what platform your hosting on and a host of other issues need to be sorted out. First, the behavior you're seeing is NOT normal. Madsonic should essentially operate...

Re: [FAQ] How large can a Library become?

Hi There, A lot of time has passed by and lately I thought why not upgrade the Madsonic to % 3860 and see how fast it has become.. The old hardware failed me and so I'm using a HP Z800 with 8G of ram and a X5650 on 2.6GHz running Os is a Windows 7 64 bit... I'm still feeling the delay though it's r...

Re: Bit the bullet, will be getting Android phone this weeke

Best part is that you can run all three on your phone at the same time. Not as much any more, but I used to have each one configured slightly differently and purposed for which one worked best with a given connection and for what kind of media I was playing. Just goes to show how important open mark...

General networking and IPv6

I know this may seem a bit premature for most users, but it is coming and perhaps sooner than we think. The link below is one of the best tutorials I've found on You Tube so far. It has a useful review of ipv4 for anyone not clear on that and it does a very nice job of introducing the fundamentals o...

Re: Bit the bullet, will be getting Android phone this weeke

Dsub is a great app. Well supported by the developer. I use both the Madsonic and Dsub on my Note 2. I also have the stock Subsonic app but don't use it much as it seems too far behind the curve keeping up with known issues. I've run into too many things where the Madsonic app and Dsub work fine but...

Re: Video timing and size issues

Mp4 video places the index information at the end of the file which is why you can't seek until it's fully loaded. There's a utility called QTindexswapper2 that can reformat an mp4 so that the information is moved to the front of the file. HTH w/that I don't know if there's any way to change the def...

Re: High Garbage Collector activity

I'm on windows and I don't see anything similar to what you're seeing. You're on Linux with a rather low power CPU, so it's a bit of a different environment. I tend to suspect that this isn't anything particular to Madsonic but may, in fact, be more of a OS related issue and how your OS and Java are...

I use the Tomcat installation on Windows Server. On that setup it's defined in "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 8.0\conf" and you have to edit the server.xml file. <Connector port="8241" protocol="org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11NioProtocol" maxThreads...

Re: [FAQ] Transcoding

Would someone be able to publish the settings for 'not transcoding' for various audio formats? My home network is generally fast enough tot stream my FLACs at full res, but I'm never quite sure what the settings are meant to be to do this? As a follow up, if I'm able to stream FLAC it stands to rea...

How long has it been running? I have seen posts that low powered cpu's seem to max out until things settle out after initial installation.

Re: Media folder index style explanation?

The short version... It just changes the way files are displayed in the left column. i.e. numbers first or last, XYZ displayed together or as X, Y, Z separately and so on. The Settings/General panel controls and explains it. I'm not sure about the random list as I don't keep up with all the changes....
