Re: Linux Upload path madness!

I have verified this seems to be working properly now.

Thanks,

Re: Open Discussion: Rework Playlist Workflow

I understand about classifying things as they were but then you run into the issue of the changing genre issue. If you want heavy rock you're going to get all different combination depending when they were released. There are just too many genres and they move too fast. You can have multiple genre's...

Re: Different ways of handling files.

OK that seemed to fix it. The overnight scan removed them and I did a clean up to be sure.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I really appreciate your responsiveness. I'm looking forward to the next release and offering suggestions to make Madsonic even better :)

Re: Different ways of handling files.

I tried this and it doesn't work. [root@wibble mp3]# cat madsonic_exclude.txt Instructional private rtorrent scripts tabs Unsorted utorrent midi lost+found Books however the index still shows lost+found and midi for some reason. Also, a user can use a direct URL to access a hidden directory For exam...

Re: Open Discussion: Rework Playlist Workflow

I'm having a problem with genre right now - because so many songs can fit into multiple genres, and also they change over the years. For example classic rock stations are playing songs from the 80's not the late 60's and 70's, and oldies stations are also doing the same, early 80's stuff. I've coine...

Re: Different ways of handling files.

Ah ok cool. Thanks. I saw something about it coming soon, guess I didn't get far enough down the documentation chain. Is there any chance of making it also check for a dot file (.madsonic_exclude.txt)? I like to have these "meta files" as I'll call them hidden so when I run scripts to prod...

Different ways of handling files.

I have a problem whereby my mp3 files are on a Linux partition which is organized something like this /mp3 /mp3/Artists /mp3/Artists/A /mp3/Artists/A/(Artist) /mp3/Artists/A/(Artist)/(Album) /mp3/Artists/B /mp3/Artists/B/(Artist) /mp3/Artists/B/(Artist)/(Album) /mp3/Audio Books /mp3/Classical /mp3/l...

Re: Open Discussion: Rework Playlist Workflow

I posted this elsewhere but to keep it together I thought I would share the idea here. Too many times I've created a random playlist and it'll go wild and put a lot of inappropriate songs together (new age/atmosphere should probably not come after Slipknot for example). It screws with the senses. Us...

Re: Linux Upload path madness!

Will this be a variable in the subsonic.sh file? If so that'd be perfect. Thanks. If it's going to force users to uploading into discrete directories, will those be created either as part of the upload process if they don't exist, or when the user is created? If not the user will encounter an error ...

Linux Upload path madness! [Solved]

Where is the upload path set? I don't see it in the Madsonic settings and it's not in the subsonic.sh file. When logged in as admin the default upload path is showing as "/mp3/!Incoming\Upload-admin" which is not what I am wanting. How can this be changed? There shouldn't be a ! in there, ...

Dropped by to say hi

Hi all, I've been using Subsonic for quite a while now but I'm frustrated with the pace of development and how long it takes to get new features added (or not in most cases). I like the software so thought I'd give Madsonic a try. Had it up and running in about 5 minutes on my CentOS box and my exis...
