Re: Madsonic Newsletter 03/2019

I've been a Madsonic user for too many years to remember -- like many users here I am super happy with it and many thanks! I use it at home, on Android, and in the car. Keep up the good work!
Looking forward to v7!

Re: 6.3.x FLAC playback issues

Unfortunately this ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH error seems to be back, in 6.3.9840, with some flac files. I applied the procedure listed above (reset transcoding profile and full rescan), but I still get this error in Chrome occasionally -- a few times per day, and the player stops working. Have to ...

Google Home support?

I have a new Google Home device. I'd love to say "OK Google, tell Madsonic to play Grateful Dead." Or even from some other device, cast music to my Google Home. Is there any possibility of Google Home support in Madsonic?

Data loss after hard shutdown

I'm running madsonic on a VM inside freenas. When I shut down freenas (e.g. to upgrade it), it kills the VM, as you'd expect. Pretty regularly though, it doesn't come back up, due to db errors. So question 1: what's the approved way to shut down madsonic before rebooting its machine? And question 2:...

Re: Unable to log in on Mobile App

Hi; I just saw this and tried it, and it worked fine! Now I can use the official mobile client. Resetting the password in the web UI did it.

Re: 6.3.x FLAC playback issues

Fixed! Madevil PMed me: after the upgrade, need to do Settings > Reset > Reset Transcoding Profile to default. Then do a full rescan. Now the player knows the correct length and my playback doesn't hang. And no more CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH browser errors. Thanks as always for the great support, Made...

Re: 6.3.x FLAC playback issues

... and it's not just oggs. It's happening for mp3s too. For instance, Rickie Lee Jones' Show Biz Kids is actually 4 min 35 sec long. In my player, that's where playback hangs... but the player thinks it's 5:44. The main madsonic index page knows it's 4:35.

Re: 6.3.x FLAC playback issues

The CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH error for ogg files is back for me. :-( I'm seeing this in the Chrome console, and the player starts spinning: GET https://music.xxx.com/stream?player=6&id=10544&auth=123123&scrobble=false net::ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH I've updated ffmpeg and done multiple complete res...

Re: "hsqldb: Data cache size limit is reached" error

I restored from last night's db backup, and I'm back up and running. So it looks like it's db corruption, related to a hard shutdown doing a db operation or something.

"hsqldb: Data cache size limit is reached" error

Layout problems with web player in 6.2.8920: vertical icons

Just installed latest 6.2.8920 (server is FreeBSD). Browser: Chrome, Linux Mint. Some icon sets come out vertical now instead of horizontal which messes up the layout. See attached screen shot.

Anyone trying Node yet? Helpful tips/ideas?

I have an older Raspberry Pi I could use for this, and a little powered speaker. I'd like to have a little bedroom system driven from my Madsonic. But before I jump in it'd be nice to hear from some folks who've done it successfully. Any reports from the field?

Mini web player?

Is there a nice mini web player for Madsonic? I'm using the standard web player with 6.1 latest, and it's fine, but no keyboard play/pause unless I'm on that Chrome tab. Seems like a mini player would be nice, something I could drive from the main web interface. Any ideas?

Re: Unable to log in on Mobile App

This happens to me too. Other clients (subsonic, dsub, and the web client) are totally fine. My username and password aren't especially bizarre. The Madsonic client has never worked for me. Maybe it's due to my server being only http, not https? Or something else? I'd love to try this client if I co...

Move to different machine, keep playing?

As in the subject. Can I go upstairs to my other computer and start playing my playlist from where I left off downstairs? Or home->work or anything.

I see Madsonic has a concept of multiple players but I don't know if that's useful/helpful. Anyone understand this?

Re: Help!: service stopped running

I moved the db folder out of the way and restarted, rebuilt everything from scratch. Now it works OK, but of course all my history, users, settings etc. are gone. If there's any way to restore my old db, that would be great to hear.
