Re: Clean-up database not working?
It would help to know what version of Madsonic you are running. If you are running an older version, this issue may have already been fixed in the current one.

Re: //folder failed not found
The way I did it (running server on Linux, media on my Windows machine), is to mount the media folder through /etc/fstab each time the server boots up. From your description, it looks like you are running on Windows, with media on another Windows machine... I believe you would need to map a drive fr...

Re: Dual Madsonic servers?
No reason in particular, just wondering if it was possible. I know GJ51 has multiple servers running, with at least one "live" server and the others for testing.

Android app, reset server settings?
Not sure what happened or when, but I just realized today that the server settings in my Madsonic app reset back to "factory defaults". I'm still running 5.0, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I just thought it was weird. Not a huge problem as I just put my server settings bac...

Running 3500, may have already been fixed in 3510, but I'm holding off on the update for now... Just got a new album loaded onto my server, added all the songs to my playlist, which only contains these songs, and hit play. Nothing usually happens at this point until I click on the first song from th...

Re: How to use MX Player
Under Settings / General, scroll down until you get to "Enable HTML5 Videoplayer" and enable that. Scroll to the bottom and save settings.
Then go to Cleanup/Tools (also under settings), and click "Reset Video Transcoder to WEBM".

Re: Dual Madsonic servers?
There is a somewhat more flexible way to do this using a reverse proxy. It requires a "server" running Apache (XAMPP) is a good way to get a working Apache setup for Windows) - http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html . ...... You should set port forwarding on your router / modem to for...

Re: Impossible to play Video
What version of Madsonic are you running? I just upgraded to 3500 (from 3480) and now there is an option under Settings/Cleanup Tools that lets you "reset" the video transcoder to WEBM (for HTML5) or back to FLV (for Flash).

Re: Open Discussion: Rework Playlist Workflow
Nelgin - that's a good point... I have a ton of stuff from the 80's that was considered "Heavy Metal" when it was released (GnR, etc...) that's considered "Hard Rock" now, and like you said, it's being played on the "classic rock" stations. For me personally though, I t...

Re: Dual Madsonic servers?
I guess I didn't explain myself too well in my original post... but you guys are pretty much confirming what I am trying to do. I have one IP address (assigned via DHCP by my ISP), and use No-IP to provide a domain name. Within No-IP, I can have up to 3 "hosts" (using free version), so I h...

Dual Madsonic servers?
I think this would be possible, to have two separate servers running on the same network, both on port 4040 (default), but accessible over the internet via a single domain name, followed by a different port number. I have something similar set up on my router, where I can (for example) put in my dom...

Re: Madsonic 5.0.3480.beta2 debian package
There should be an update to Java 1.7. I'm running: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_17, Linux (68.7 MB / 109.5 MB) with 3480 as well, on Linux (Centos 6.4), without issues. I would try installing the latest version of Java.

Playlist naming
Apparently, on the Android app, playlists won't work if they have a "/" in the name. It will work on the web interface, but when I try to access via the Android app (on my S3), it pops a java error, stating it can't be found. I just renamed it to replace the / with a -, and it's working fi...

Might be able to do something like this through the "Signature" MOD that some people are using (myself included).
Or if you are scrobbling through Last.FM, there may be a way to tweet what you are playing...

[Script] Convert iTunes playlists to Madsonic
I created a small script for myself that will convert my existing iTunes playlists on my Windows machine to the proper format for my Linux-based Madsonic installation. Step 1: Export your iTunes playlists (even "Genius" lists will work with this!) to a folder on your Windows computer Step ...

Re: Java version
Since 4.8 (maybe 4.7), Madsonic has used Java 7, as it's more secure and lacks the "holes" that Java 6 has.
There is a version of Madsonic 5.0 beta compiled with Java 6 - just check the download thread for one marked "JAVA6".

Done that. Seems to work OK on my Android, but the option isn't available (that I have found anyway) on Thumper. I tried the "Shuffle" feature in Thumper, and I thought it was working initially, but after a few songs, I noticed the difference in songs being listed...

Now Playing
I know this may not actually be possible, but if it is, I would like to see this.... Have the "Now Playing" show the actual song that is playing when listening to music from a mobile device (or as I am now discovering, from the "Thumper" app on my Mac). Currently, when I listen t...

Re: subsonic.org
Another thing to try would be to change your *.subsonic.org address and save settings, then wait about a half hour and change it back to your original address.
I did this when my ISP swapped out my cable modem.

Re: Android Client 5.1 Release
How are you sending the updates to Google Play? Like the last version upgrade (4.0.9 to 5.0), I am showing that the app is "installed", but when I check the application manager to see what version I have, it currently says "5.0", not 5.1 (or whatever the new release happens to be...
