Re: [Tutorial] Registration Engine
The script doesn't go into the "jetty" folder. It goes on your machine, under the /var/www/html folder.
I'm sure you could adjust the script to allow it to be placed in the jetty folder, but I haven't looked into that.

Re: Version 5.0.3560.beta4 (also 3510) Last.fm
Note sure if what I experienced is similar, but when I tried to do a "full" Last.FM sync, it just took FOREVER! I eventually just clicked on something else (like "Home") to continue Madsonic. No error messages, the server or browser didn't freeze or anything, just a weird anomaly.

Re: Ideas to run madsonic
I run it in a virtual server on my main workstation PC. I have allocated 4gb RAM and 120gb hard drive (and 2 CPU cores). Music is stored on the workstation itself, so I "map" a location on my Linux VM to the location of my media on the PC and it all works fine.

Re: Sending mail when creating new account
Check the tutorial section for the registration engine. It does require a bit of setup and configuration, but it is designed to send email to the user for confirmation of their email address, and will create the new user in Madsonic directly.

Re: Registration Engine?
Fully operational registration, with instructions: http://forum.madsonic.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=622
No captcha, as I originally wanted, but it does have email verification.

Re: Artist Radio
I usually just create my playlists in iTunes (using the "Genius" feature), then convert them (change paths, basically) and then import into Madsonic.

Re: Rescan won't pickup album folders starting with "..."
May have to rename the folders. Linux and Mac systems identify "hidden" files by using the "." as the first character.

Re: Missing PM's?
I received an email saying that someone sent me a PM, but that PM isn't in my inbox. I did get the email and PM from you just a while ago, but still don't see the one that was sent before. I'm going to send that person a PM, they were asking about configuring "Sendmail".

Missing PM's?
Not sure if this is happening to everyone, but I received email notification that someone had sent me a PM on this site, so I go to check the PM, and there's NOTHING in my Inbox (except messages that I have already read.) I'm thinking this may be why MadEvil isn't responding to the ones I have been ...

Re: [Tutorial] Registration Engine
It took me about an hour to get everything working, but that included finding the source script online, modifying it to meet my system specs, troubleshooting a mailflow issue (I forward my mail through smtp.gmail.com, and I had the wrong port # assigned, and no SSL certificate!), and typing up the t...

[Tutorial] Registration Engine
Well, it seems my hard work (on and off, of course!) has finally paid off. While it doesn't integrate directly with Facebook, I have successfully created a registration engine that allows new users to create their own username on my Madsonic server. Pre-requisites: 1) A server running MySQL (can be ...

Re: Registration Engine?
Old thread, but I am getting closer to having a modest registration engine, with email/username checking integrated into my Madsonic installation. I have it set up on my server, and verified that it will accept a full name, username, email address, and password. Still trying to get it to accept a &q...

Re: Synology - tomcat
Not sure how to get Madsonic on a Synology NAS (or any NAS for that matter, although as soon as I can afford one, I'm sure I'd at least try to get it working!) I do use Linux, but I'm using Apache, and not Tomcat. From what I understand, to use Tomcat, you need to extract or download only the .WAR f...

Playlist deleting songs
Not sure what happened, but my server lost its network connection to my media folder, and all of my playlists defaulted back to 0 songs. (I had backups, so I just had to delete them all and then re-import). I'd like to see a feature where playlists will not remove a song from itself if the file (son...

Re: Where are the playlists stored?
Saving on Android would be dependent upon the application you are using. I use the Madsonic app, but I haven't really needed to backup playlists (since I do it on my PC). I do know that the iSub app for iPhones will allow you to copy playlists from "local" (the iPhone) to the server, and t...

Re: Where are the playlists stored?
Import and export are mainly (at least from how I use them) for backup and restore. I actually create my playlists through iTunes and export them to m3u8 files, then run a script to "convert" them to the way Madsonic needs them to point to my music library, and then import them into Madson...

Re: Where are the playlists stored?
If you click on the "date/time" playlist, it will show up in the main window. One of the options is to "edit" the playlist, which allows you to simply rename it to whatever you want. I know the ability to name it as you create it has been suggested, so that may be in a future ver...
