Sonos-style jukebox
This is a "shoot for the moon" type feature request... but imagine enhancing the jukebox so that you can broadcast across the whole house. The jukebox would need to target a new device that broadcasts to all the receivers in the house. The receivers, either android + madsonic app or PC + j...

Re: Run Subsonic and Madsonic on the same PC/Server?
Yes. I run both to try out new builds of each. on unix I install one in /var/madsonic and one in /var/subsonic You just need two copies of the shell script, which you already have -- /usr/bin/subsonic and /usr/bin/madsonic make sure that in there they point to the right directories, and assign them ...

Re: Genre -> Artist - Year - Album -> Song
I've tracked down two examples of albums that do what I want and don't do what I want on the latest (5.0.3780) build : Good Listing the album shows up as the folder name: Air - 2007 - Pocket Symphony Bad Listing the album shows up as just the album name, no artist : Moon Safari Here are the idv2 dum...

jukebox mode - select sound card
I like to use madsonic as a replacement for a squeezebox or other living-room based player using the jukebox mode. Right now the only way to select the sound card output is to compile a java program and then edit madsonic.sh. I put instructions on how to do this on the subsonic wiki some time ago (h...

Genre -> Artist - Year - Album -> Song
Hi Madsonic, I have my music organized as : Genre/ Artist - Year - Album / Song*.mp3 This goes back a decade or so from using Apache::MP3. My ID3 tags are not trustworthy too. When I choose : Sort Albums by Foldername -> Check Show album year -> uncheck Sort Files by Foldername -> Check I get pretty...

Re: Which theme is the best?
I use the Madsonic (Black) theme, but there's no doubt that the best theme is the one that YOU like the best. Well, Yes that's true :) However I know for other projects (like phpBB) some of the lesser used themes don't always get all the UI upgrades, so it's best to stick with the most-used themes ...

Which theme is the best?
Hi, this is a bit of a subjective question -- but which theme is the most used and developed in madsonic? I would like to make sure I get all the newest and greatest enhancements.

List / Sort by Filename / Foldername
I thought I would move this discussion over here. Subsonic 4.7 has some known deficiencies if you sort your music yourself into folders (http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10250&start=30) I'm kind of using 4.6 as the "gold standard" for the behavior I want -- every...

Re: Database upgrade from subsonic 4.6?
hi, since 4.8 the upgrade should work, but i sounds like a rare migration issue. i recommend you to start from scratch, you have clean index, new default Setting-File, new Transcoding defaults ... best regards Thanks, I figured that would be the case. Is there any way to just get the user tab...

Database upgrade from subsonic 4.6?
Hi Devs,
Is it possible to use a 4.6 install to seed madsonic, or do I need to start over from scratch?
Right now I get a schema issue from missing columns in my tables.
thanks!
