This is well known and old bug from subsonic. The strange thing is that it should be fixed long time ago. The solution is integrated in current madsonic releases. I double checked just to be sure. When more than one song is added to the play queue,
a little speaker icon indicates which song is currently running.

When you click "shuffle" button on the player, the songs are shuffled,
the music is not stopped, but the icon indicating current song is gone.

I did the exact same thing. I think you don't need that key for madsonic.
Maybe someone more experienced with madsonic can correct me.
