Re: Madsonic Website Down including license server
As of right now it's back up...
Was told by Madsonic that some services didn't restart after an upgrade...I think we can all relate to that!

Madsonic Website Down including license server
It seems like the www.madsonic.org website isn't responding. Web browser gives "www.madsonic.org refused to connect."
This is affecting the license server. My system no longer thinks it's premium and I've lost a number of features.

Madsonic License Server Down?
It looks like the Madsonic website certificate has expired. This is causing the license checks to fail for premium. I do see this in the Madsonic error log: Caused by: java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException: NotAfter: Thu Sep 05 20:12:18 EDT 2019 And the madsonic website certificate says its...

Re: Error 403 after upgrade using Debian package
I've reproduced it on a clean install if all you do is enable https in the startup arguments, so I doubt that's the issue. My guess is there's something missing in the https handling or configuration in the new version using the new security framework.

Workaround
One final note from me. To fix this quickly for my users, I've added a proxy redirect to send https traffic to the http port in the background (I've done this for many of my services that don't support https but need https encryption). This is probably the better solution since I no longer have to w...

Re: Error 403 after upgrade using Debian package
Still working this, but it appears there something in my /etc/default/madsonic file. When I commented out all startup args in that file, the http interface came up. I'll update this when I've figured out what's doing it. UPDATE: The problem seems to be happening when specifying an https port for sta...

Any idea when the 7.x packages will be released for other systems like Debian and the like?

Re: Welcome!
I have been using Madsonic for a LONG time, even beta testing many features over the past few years. I can say that between podcasts and music, my Madsonic server gets used close to 15 hours per day by all my family members. Even when other products I use have added music support (I'm looking at you...

Re: Madsonic Relaunch
An now the big tease is that my Madsonic version is telling me to "Download Madsonic 7.0.10000 here.", but the link still says downloads are down.

Re: Madsonic Relaunch
Relaunch was a bit anticlimactic. I was expecting new downloads to make a big splash. Still looking forward to the new versions, though.

Re: Madsonic Relaunch
I agree with all said. I'm looking forward to the new version, but I'm glad I didn't have to reinstall in the meantime. I also believe access to the older releases should not have been cut off.

Re: How to recognize Album Description in mp3 automatically.
I found the most reliable way to fix tags is to fix the tags per your preferred method, then move the files out of your music folders, then rescan files. Once that's done, move them back into their original place and rescan again. It will probably mess up your playlists and such, but I've no other w...

Re: Forget Plex, this is the way to go!
I totally agree. I have both a Plex lifetime and a Madsonic scubscription. I use Plex for video (and some pictures), and Madsonic for audio. As much as Plex has focused on music development, it just isn't convenient to use Plex for music on my devices (well, maybe sometimes on a video streaming devi...

Re: Podcast Receiver Can't handle episodes with same name
Using MADSONIC 6.2.9260. This is still happening. Podcast example: http://feeds.podtrac.com/EJbKUnHP5ywQ In this case, all the episodes are called "download.mp3", but the path is different for each one. It appears that whatever is downloading the episodes is appending an extra number to the episode ...

Regular user can view non-authorized content
MADSONIC 6.2.9260.8df1ddd.20170215.1037 I have a folder called "NEW" to which only the admin user has access. I have a normal user who is not supposed to see content in the NEW directory. However, when using a mobile app with the REST API, that user can get a genre list that not only shows the genre...

Re: Playback controls missing from downloaded podcasts
This is still happening quite often. Today, all my podcasts had no play controls in the web interface even though they all said "complete" in the status. I had to delete all the episodes from the database, and delete all the recordings on disk in order to restore functionality. I don't know why I ha...
