Hello i have
Samsung SM-G935V
Running Android 6.0.1
Madsonic 6.1.8740 running on a FreeNAS box FreeNAS-9.10.2 (a476f16)
I have 2 folders with my music in it all using .mp3 format
CD and MP3
CD is a collection of all my ripped CDs in mp3 format.
Each CD rip is inside its own subfolder in the CD folder
CD\CD1
CD\CD2
etc..
MP3 is a collection of random mp3s that are well labeled all inside the MP3 folder without any subfolders
Apparently when searching for songs that are part of an album in my CD folder and I click it... madsonic opens the CD album for me to play songs...
but
when I search for a song that is inside my MP3 folder I can see it but when I click on it nothing happens...
This has to be some sort of configuration/ Folder Structure issue i just dont know what it is.....
Is there a special way im supposed to add a mix of a bunch of MP3's to madsonic
Thanks in Advance

Re: Cant select song using search function on Android App
Hi there,
Standard behavior would be that after the track selection the corresponding album is displayed.
BTW: you can autoplay with Google Voice recognition:
> OK Google > Play Album Some Minds
or
> OK Google > Play Artist Depeche Mode
best regards

I am going to talk about my setup a bit
I have 2 folders
CD and MP3
MP3 is a collection of random mp3s that are well labeled all inside the folder without any subfolders
CD is a collection of all my ripped CDs with each CD inside it's own subfolder
So I played around with the search a little more....

Re: Cant select song using search function on Android App
So i did some more tinkering and discovered that
If i go into my MP3 folder and put a song into a folder with the name of the artist i can search AND select the song to play using the android app.
So right now my only option is to go through my MP3 folder and place each of my 1000+ mp3s into a folder a folder with the name of the artist
OR
I THINK i found out an option that can help me
If i go to settings --> media folder
there is an option
Organize by folder structure
Use this option to browse through your media library using the directory structure rather than using artist/album info in ID3 tags.
This option is checked AND grayed out so i cant uncheck it.....
apparently madsonic is using the filename and folder structure to identify songs instead of ID3 tags and there is no way to uncheck it from what i see
Here is a post requesting to be able to uncheck it dating January 1 2016 and the most recent post is 10 Oct 2016 still requesting it
well apparently i cant post links to other threads inside of madsonic sooooooo because im a new user
search for
Organize By Folder Structure
by iholder
forum .madsonic. org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=1670
Are there any other options available to me?
I dropped $2 on the android app to test this out which isnt a big deal.... i am actually wanting to support and get the lifetime subscription just like i did with emby for my movies but this is an instant show stopper for me....
Any input is appreciated
Thanks in Advance
