What would be the be the easiest way to go about getting madsonic and owncloud on the raspberry pi?
I am looking to retire an old win 98 machine. Its running Ubuntu headless its loud as crap and is probly cugging electricity.

installing should be pretty similar to your headless ubuntu install if you start out with a clean Raspbian install, Raspbian is of course built in Debian so make sure you use Debian compatible commands.
i don't know much about owncloud, but if it can be installed on debian you can probably follow those same instructions to install it on your Pi, not sure how well a Pi will perform with both of these running, but give it a try and see what happens!

yeah, but the PI is not the beast man in the field when it comes to IOPs relevant actions ...
i can imagine running a frequently used mycloud besides an proper madsonic may cause some issues with
the processor , the ram or maybe the heat
