Hi there,
I am very frustrated with the existing car entertainment systems available at the moment.
I would like to develop new system bundles for cars with android and Madsonic.
i appreciate every idea what is working well and what could be better.
best regards

a new multi-tag system is planed, but this needs a bigger database schema update and is postponed at the moment.
Also better home entertainment support is aimed for Playstation, UPnP, XMBC, ...
BTW (AC/DC is one of my test artists)
Best regards

Ideas?
- Make everything work with HTML5 - Flash is dead.
- Make separate transcoding definition defaults for desktop and mobile devices. *may be obsolete if html5 handles music output as ogg in the desktop player?
Now that I'm actually getting 4g connections once in a while, it would be nice to play video on my phone occasionally, but last update from Sprint killed my flash again and I haven't bothered to side load it again. Kinda was hoping that the whole "lets just move it all to html5" thing was finally gonna happen.
In any event, CONGRATULATIONS on taking the plunge setting up a business.
Keep up the great work. It's such a joy to see active development and real concern for the users. You and Daneren2005 set the standard for others to follow.

Have you had a chance to update the API changes specific to Madsonic yet. That and can you add some type of way to identify madsonic from the REST API responses

Hi there,
Yes with Beta 2 i tried a quick implementation of the
http://mediaelementjs.com media player, a better implemention is comming with beta3.
That transcoding works with all existing formats is a tricky thing.
i appreciate all your support a lot !!
Best regards

Hi Scott,
Yes, it's nearly complete. My development computer has unfortunately suspended yesterday, Next week i will finish documentation, meanwhile i send you the 1.11.5 specification (PM).
The responde from the server looks like:
Code: Select all
<subsonic-response xmlns="http://madsonic.org/restapi" status="ok" version="1.12.0"></subsonic-response>
i can not move the protocol to
it will break compatibility for all other old clients
but a possibility would be
Code: Select all
<subsonic-response xmlns="http://madsonic.org/restapi" status="ok" version="1.12.0" type="madsonic"></subsonic-response>
do you have any other suggestions
best regards

I'm just now seeing this, but I'm excited!
Madsonic Car-Entertainment Systems
[...]
This has me the most excited though! I've been waiting for a quality double-din Android radio (4.0+) that I could run MadSonic on, but there is nothing other than crappy chinese stuff out there!
Also, if you are in need of assistance with growing your business, I would also be interested in helping out (even volunteering). I'm an IT professional by trade (systems engineer) and am making a career move into Cloud Engineering/DevOps (RHEL/CentOS, AWS, Puppet/Chef/Ansible, Splunk/Nagios, etc., etc) so I would love to be part of your project, if even only to build my own portfolio. Web hosting, MaaS (MadSonic as a Service!), etc -- I'd love to be a part!

At what point will the xmlns="
http://madsonic.org/restapi" be added to the standard Madsonic releases so I can start using it? Just trying to plan ahead.

Hi Scott,
I'm sorry for the lateness, but unfortunately I was very busy in the last time.
in the next 2 weeks it's planned to startup a new webpage for the REST API documentation like
http://www.subsonic.org/pages/api.jsp
this should help everybody to explore new Madsonic features.
i don't feel very comfortable with the new JAXB portation within the subsonic 5.0 beta1. Do you have seen problems on the client side?
best regards

I haven't noticed it causing any issues so far. I meant when is it going to be part of the REST responses, though I also did want to know about the documentation part lol. On the current 5.0 it's not there. Is it already part of the response for 5.1?
