Re: Madsonic Newsletter 02/2021
The newsletter talks about version 8 (and also a version 9 is mentioned) with promises to deliver first half 2022 ?! Well, so far not much seems to happen - eh ? It's a pity. Madsonic is such a fine tool. I'm currently running 7.0.10390 in a docker container as a premium user (lifetime license). It ...

Re: Madsonic Newsletter 02/2020
From my side, the most important feature now, is to add support for foreign characters. As can be seen from the screendump, almost half of my library cannot be played using Madsonic because the song titles contains foreign characters. Please, please help! Re: Failed to index songs/albums with non-US characters
There are plenty of posts in this forum with similar topic. Noone seems to know how to tell Madsonic to use UTF-8. If you have made this working, you are the only one. I'm sure the community would love to have an explanation. 2. In my case, I only use MP3 files 3. Albums and songs containing any spe...

Failed to index songs/albums with non-US characters
Hi All,
I noticed that Madsonic fails to index files with foreign characters.
Is there a way to set locale to UTF-8 or similar?

Re: Nothing working in 6.2.9260
Hi, I have no idea how to help you solve your problem. All I can say is that I am currently running 6.2.9040 in a Docker container on my QNAP, and it works perfectly. Everytime I wish to upgrade, I always do a test first in a new container. If it fails, I have the previous container to go back to. M...

@magicd2,
I tested the MAC download link today, and it works just fine. You'll find it here: http://beta.madsonic.org/pages/request. ... 40-mac.pkg

Re: 2-factor authentication
I suppose it would be automatic for anybody using 2-factor for their Google sign-in, once the oauth/social sign-in option is added to Madsonic... ;) Oooh, easy - easy  Are you saying that it is possible to log into Madsonic using ones Google account? What is the oauth/social option and how d...

Re: Chromecast = NoGo
Hi @troycarpenter, The cast function you refer to is the one nativly built into chrome. It allows you to cast anything on screen, including audio, but it has nothing to do with Madsonic. I think it is sad that Madsonic advertise chromecast compatibility like they do when it does not work at all. Eve...

I'm using chrome browser Version 54.0.2840.99 m (64-bit) on a Windows 10 version 1607 (Build 14393.447) running Madsonic 6.1.8740 Premium in Docker. Which clients do actually work with Madsonic?
The Madsonic Web site (http://beta.madsonic.org/pages/apps.jsp) list a lot of apps as if they all were compatible with the Madsonic server, but most of the client apps listed are subsonic apps, and I tried a few of them and couldn't make the play files from my Madsonic server. So why are these apps ...

Re: Cannot install 6.x on QNAP NAS TS-120
My quess i that you're running out of memory, probably already in the install phase as the Ramdisk on these Marwell based servers are very limited.
You could try to temporarily move the RAM-disk to your HDD and expand it considerably just to see if that works.
