Re: Possible to browse by folder?
This feature is at the moment not available and the configuration option is removed until its complete integrated. It's planned to bring this feature into Madsonic in an upcoming version. It never worked for me without problems, because madsonic often did not care about my real folder-names, took t...

And I would like to know how I can tell Madsonic to really use the folder-struchture as it is without any "intelligent" parsing.Fletchesus wrote:I would also be interested in how to "uncheck" the Organize by folder structure box, to permit organization by ID3 tags. Thanks.

Transfer Users and Usersettings, Tomcat
I have a Tomcat installtaion and I am wondering how to keep users and user-settings after setting up a new installatation, both version 6.1. Is it possible at all? I tried these steps separate. Each step did not work. 1. Keeping the madsonic-folder on c:\madsonic 2. Keeping only the madsonic.script-...

Musicfolders: Organize by folder structure
Settings - > Media Folders -> Organize by folder structure is marked but grey and therefore not changeable. Why? Edit: Anyway. Although this is marked Madsonic does not care about. Example: Album-Tag: Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Folder-name: 001 Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Madsonic...

Re: Error opening madsonic 6.1.8550 (Tomcat)
I finally have a working Madsonic again.
After all these frustrating defeats mentioned above I tried stable version 6.1.8280.
So it seems to me that the beta 6.1.8550 fails with deploying in Tomcat.
I hope the bug will be fixed in the near future.

Re: Error opening madsonic 6.1.8550 (Tomcat)
The same happens with Server stable 5.1.5260. Background: I had to clean install Windows 10 anniversary and therefore to reinstall Tomcat and Madsonic.war. I cannot get Madsonic to work again. Changes to the former working installation: Newer Tomcat 64 Bit, Java 64 Bit 1.8.0_101 I first tried Madson...

Proportional Font in Themes Black/Dark and digits
Since version 6 with the themes Dark/Black a proportional pitch is used also with digits. It was not so in Version 5. This results in an awful looking typeface in columns that contain digits like year, track-Length, tracknumber. Digit 1 is very narrow, digit 0 is very wide. So the entries in the col...

File-Links in Comments
As far as I tested it is only possible to place a HTTP-Link to a file in a comment in Madsonic.
I would like to have a File-Link to local files too.
Perhaps there is already a workaround?

Defined Shortcuts no longer replace source
In Server 5 I am used, that a defined shortcut replaces the source in the left panel, e.g. if you define "Various Artists" as a shortcut, this artist is no longer listed at the source location. In Server 6.1 Index-Menu, which seems to be the replacement for the the former panel on the left...

Madsonic on Linux, Windows Standalone, Tomcat
Hi, till now I have used madsonic-server on a Mini-PC (Atom-CPU) with Windows 7, because this PC was used for several other windows-appications. This is not longer necessary that means I can use this Mini-PC for only madsonic. I wonder wether it is recommendable to change the operating system to Lin...

Re: Madsonic not showing real foldernames
I meanwhile found out, that the only method to get Madsonic to show an unparsed or unchanged folder-name instead of the album-tag is to use an empty album-directory without a tagged file during first scan. If you then copy the tagged mp3-files to this album-folder Madsonic leaves its database-entry ...
