mh still did not get the point, so you are telling us thar your server is reachable from the outside via domainname. but not from the inside ? the fact you have messed around with an vpn server an the same machine should not be part of this problem. i guess your problem is somewhere on the dns chain...

the smoothest way to use your own selected ssl features ,
try running madsonic on localhost with nonssl
and setup a apache proxy server with ssl support.
this will do the trick very well. and you can create you own certs : )

yeah you are right,
i guess Mad is able to build a proper piece auf software. but my expierience tells me, that online and realtime manipulation of db is an risky operation.
since then i try to manage smaller things like this manually ^^

we've got to wait til MadSonic releases a minor update to fix these issues

serverbased or not, i thought to mention it could be neccessary, cause this crap happened after migrating from 5.0 > 5.1 but as given in the dl section of 5.1 an upgrade is not an recomended option. starting from scratch is more stable. i have written a short howto in an other thread how to get old ...

i did not even get an error ... starting the app turned the screen black, nothing happened. after starting 3 or 4 times the phone made a softrestart .
then i reinstalled it. voila everythings fine now
